I’m a retired public educator. I taught upper elementary age children for only 9 years in public education. Before that, I taught in a private christian school for a few years at the request of the principal and discovered I loved it! So I went back to school (Texas Christian University) and studied education. While teaching elementary math and science, I was also the campus science lead teacher, math lead teacher and campus technology representative.
I left the classroom, while I still loved teaching, and became the assistant principal in a new academy in another school district. I was responsible for instruction and how teachers used technology. I was not responsible for discipline. Two years later, I moved to the Administration building as the Director of Instructional Technology. I had a team of teachers and assisted teachers in their efforts to use technology in teaching.
I had an amazing and fun career. A few highlights here.
My husband and I retired to rural southern Arkansas and travel in our RV. We travel for fun and we volunteer all around the US.
I have earned extra income for traveling in our motorhome, as an independent contractor and teacher for VIPKID. I also substitute teach for the local schools when we are home.
